About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recreational Therapist to join our team at the New England Center for Children Inc. As a Recreational Therapist, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing innovative leisure and recreational programs for our students with autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with adapted physical education specialists to develop and implement recreational-based treatments to help students regain or improve physical abilities, promote social well-being, and build confidence.
  • Work with a team of professionals to design and deliver programs that cater to the unique needs and abilities of our students.
  • Assist students in mastering essential skills for independence, including self-care, communication, and social skills, as well as community engagement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, families, and community partners to ensure a comprehensive and supportive environment.
Requirements
  • TN Visa sponsorship by the New England Center for Children Inc.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Ability to communicate and provide verbal instruction clearly with students.
  • Valid Driver's License with reliable vehicle.
  • CPR training completion through the New England Center for Children Inc. within 6 months of employment.
  • Successful completion of the New England Center for Children Inc.'s training programs, including Physical and Verbal De-escalation training (CALM) and Medication Administration training (ability to get MAP Certified).
