Adult Services Counselors play a vital role in our residential program, providing essential direct care assistance to our adult clients. Counselors are trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to effectively implement and enhance clinical, educational, and vocational skills, while also assisting with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, cooking, cleaning, toileting, and shopping. They receive training in medication administration (MAP), transportation of clients, and techniques for verbal and physical de-escalation of challenging behaviors (CALM training), enabling our clients to communicate their needs, enhance problem-solving abilities, and maintain overall well-being.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or 1 year of relevant experience
  • Willingness to assist clients who exhibit challenging behaviors
  • Ability to communicate and provide clear verbal instructions to our adult consumers
  • Valid Driver's License with dependable transportation
  • Completion of CPR training through NECC within 6 months of employment
  • Successful completion of NECC training, including Physical and Verbal De-escalation training (CALM) and Medication Administration training (ability to achieve MAP Certification)
