Professional Water Resources Engineer

Horrocks is seeking a highly skilled Professional Engineer to join our Water Resources team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing water resources projects, including pipelines, pump stations, tanks, and reservoirs. You will also prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of water resources projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design and analysis of water resources projects, including pipelines, pump stations, tanks, and reservoirs
- Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water resources projects
- Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and sub-consultant coordination
- Interface with clients, including state and local agencies
- Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders
- Coordinate with office management and other project managers to share resources
- Assist in proposal preparation, including oral presentations, and prepare the scope, schedule, and budget for new projects
- Work within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete projects
- Take ownership of projects from start to finish
- Experience and relationships with water and wastewater districts and public agencies are highly preferred
- Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2D Modeling, WaterGEMS, sewerGEMS, and other applicable software
- Expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic software, including HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, etc.
- Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members
- Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices
- Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in civil engineering (FE Complete)
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required
- Minimum 2-4 years of hydraulics design experience, including design of roadway drainage and flood control facilities, and design of erosion control and water control facilities
- Experience in managing technical staff and project teams is desirable
- Ability to manage several projects concurrently
