About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at Lennar Mortgage. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating and processing loan applications, assessing the creditworthiness of borrowers, and ensuring compliance with lending guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk analysis and review loans for compliance with agency and investor guidelines.
  • Render decisions within the department's service level agreement (SLA) and meet productivity and quality standards.
  • Utilize automated underwriting systems (Encompass, LPA, Desktop Underwriter) to assess risk, salability, and reduced documentation for borrowers.
  • Apply manual underwriting requirements in decision-making for loans without automated approval.
  • Clearly and concisely condition loans appropriately when rendering decisions.
  • Provide expertise and coaching to processing and production staff on training issues and automated underwriting systems.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • VA Automatic and DE Designation.
  • LAPP SAR designation.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the mortgage industry, including 3 years of frontline underwriting of FHA/VA/Conventional loans.
  • 2+ years of experience in mortgage software.
  • Proficient in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Purchase transaction, specifically new construction experience preferred.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional experiences to customers.
