Safety National is seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Risk Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our Credit Risk Department, you will play a critical role in managing our workers' compensation surety bond product offering and supporting our large deductible and large casualty product offerings.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive financial reviews and assessments of prospective and existing customers, analyzing their financial statements and identifying potential credit risk exposures.
- Document and communicate quantitative and qualitative financial factors that support collateral underwriting decisions and terms.
- Issue collateral quote terms to SN's LC Underwriters and WC Bond brokers, including dollar amounts, acceptable collateral types, pricing, and credit risk charges.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for questions and discussions around collateral quote terms with SN LC Underwriters, Business Development, and external brokers.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- 3-7 years of applicable financial/credit underwriting experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to perform at a high level, with a focus on detail and teamwork.
- Able to prioritize tasks and multitask while meeting deadlines.
- Experience working with the S&P CapitalIQ suite/platform is a plus.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus.
