We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at Lennar Mortgage. As a critical member of our lending team, you will play a key role in evaluating and processing loan applications, assessing the creditworthiness of borrowers, and ensuring compliance with lending guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough risk analysis and review loans for compliance with agency and investor guidelines.
- Render decisions within the department's service level agreement (SLA) and meet productivity and quality standards.
- Utilize automated underwriting systems (Encompass, LPA, Desktop Underwriter) to assess risk, salability, and reduced documentation for borrowers.
- Apply manual underwriting requirements in decision-making for loans without automated approval.
- Clearly and concisely condition loans appropriately when rendering decisions.
- Provide expertise and coaching to processing and production staff on training issues and automated underwriting systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- VA Automatic and DE Designation.
- LAPP SAR designation.
- Minimum of 5 years in mortgage industry to include 3 years of frontline underwriting of FHA/VA/Conventional loans.
- 2+ years of experience in mortgage software.
- Proficient in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Purchase transaction, specifically new construction experience preferred.
- Self-starter and able to work independently.
- Exceptional organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional experiences to customers.
