Job Summary

GeorgiaGov is seeking a highly qualified Patient Care Technician Instructor to join our team in the Academic and Student Affairs division. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for instructing and supervising students in the Patient Care Technician Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality curriculum, including course outlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Monitor and manage class schedules for the non-credit Patient Care Technician program and master course schedule.
  • Assist in verifying program learning outcomes and follow approved curriculum standards and course syllabi.
  • Prepare and deliver quality instruction to students, including daily instruction and assessment.
  • Develop and implement effective testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and record-keeping requirements.
  • Utilize effective oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the Nursing field.
  • Follow approved curriculum standards and course syllabi.
  • Assist with student recruitment and job placement, as well as advise and counsel students while maintaining appropriate records.
  • Monitor student use of supplies, materials, and equipment, and maintain classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and management plans.
  • Conduct off-site visits to classroom/lab and clinical sites to ensure proper instruction.
  • Observe and enforce institution policies and regulations.
  • Serve on committees and maintain qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia.
  • Attend meetings as required, and meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting student progress.
  • Assist with development and review of program, syllabi, goals, and objectives according to approved curriculum and course syllabi standards.
  • Follow and enforce rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
Requirements
  • Must possess and demonstrate an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Must possess and demonstrate an active license as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • Must possess and demonstrate two (2) years of work-related experience as a Registered Nurse with one (1) year of clinical experience as a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse in a Long-Term Care Facility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference may be given to candidates that possess and demonstrate a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and five years or more of clinical experience and educational teaching experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • American Heart Associate CPR certified.
  • Holds a Train-the-Trainer Certificate or obtain the certificate upon hire.
  • Currently licensed in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse and deemed in good standing.
  • Registered Nursing in the State of Georgia.
