Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a highly qualified Instructor for its Patient Care Technician Program in the Academic and Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Tech's main campus, just south of downtown Atlanta.

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Technician Instructor will be responsible for instructing and supervising students in the Patient Care Technician Program. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent teaching techniques, develop course outlines, and manage class schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver quality curriculum with daily instruction of students.
  • Monitor and manage class schedules for the non-credit Patient Care Technician program.
  • Assist in verifying program learning outcomes and follow approved curriculum standards and course syllabi.
  • Prepare and deliver quality curriculum with daily instruction of students.
  • Monitor student use of supplies, materials, and equipment and maintain classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and management plans.
  • Conduct off-site visits to classroom/lab and clinical sites to ensure proper instruction.
  • Observe and enforce the institution's policies and regulations.
  • Attend meetings as required, and meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate must possess and demonstrate an Associate's Degree in Nursing, an active license as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing, and two years of work-related experience as a Registered Nurse with one year of clinical experience as a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse in a Long-Term Care Facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates that possess and demonstrate a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and five years or more of clinical experience and educational teaching experience.

Certifications/Licenses:
  • American Heart Associate CPR certified.
  • Holds a Train-the-Trainer Certificate or obtain the certificate upon hire.
  • Currently licensed in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse and deemed in good standing.
  • Registered Nursing in the State of Georgia.
