Job Summary
As a Customer Service Representative at Genuine Parts Company, you will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction by accurately fulfilling orders and managing incoming customer calls under close supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, provide quotes, and handle order entry with precision and attention to detail.

• Place customer orders via various channels, including telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in sales, while maintaining a high level of customer service.

• Negotiate sales and purchase prices within established parameters to influence Motion Industries' gross profit.

• Adjust non-contract customer pricing to meet customer demands while maximizing profit for Motion Industries, based on competition and market conditions.

• Build strong customer relationships to drive repeat business by understanding customer needs and driving process improvements.

• Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained for customers by ordering items as needed.

• Place orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order without approval, while exercising sound judgment and decision-making skills.

• Source products from branch inventory, distribution center inventory, or supplier inventory to meet customer needs.

• Determine the most cost-effective shipping method for customer orders, balancing speed and cost considerations.

• Collaborate with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues that may arise.

• Expedite backorders, pull inventory, and prepare orders for shipment to customers as needed.

• Handle customer returns and other related tasks with professionalism and courtesy.

Requirements:
Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and zero to three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated reliability, organization, and attention to detail in previous roles.

• Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening abilities.

• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Moderate computer skills, including information processing, email communication, and business system usage.
