Position Overview:

As a Lead Software Architect for the GenAI Knowledge Assets division, you will be pivotal in shaping the technical strategy and direction of our team. Collaborating with diverse teams, including Cybersecurity, AI as a Service, and Business Operations, you will design and implement a comprehensive enterprise solution for GenAI Knowledge Assets. This includes formulating a business strategy, orchestrating knowledge management, and spearheading data product development to enhance Visa's GenAI applications.

Your role will be essential within the leadership team, establishing a technical roadmap, investigating and integrating industry-standard technologies, and refining the knowledge management system. You will partner with development managers and teams to identify and tackle technical challenges while coordinating with various product and data science teams to streamline feature requests and model onboarding.

  • Generative AI signifies a groundbreaking technological evolution with significant implications for the corporate environment, promising enhanced operational efficiency. However, its successful implementation relies on the availability of high-quality content tailored for the appropriate AI solutions and internal stakeholders.
  • The effective strategic and operational management of Visa's documents and data is crucial for leveraging our emerging suite of GenAI tools. This role will serve as a vital driver of innovation in GenAI utilization and information governance.
  • You will be responsible for architecting solutions that align with strategic priorities, facilitating access to Visa's valuable document and data assets, and developing a long-term strategy for GenAI adoption, including necessary cultural transformations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with project teams, data science units, and development groups to drive the technical roadmap and oversee the creation and deployment of new data-driven business solutions.
  • Establish technical standards and best practices while continuously enhancing the scalability of the AI Platform engineering.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering the growth of the team's talent pipeline.
  • Define a structured architectural framework to address the components of our document management system, formulate relevant hypotheses, and support project workflows.
  • Ensure effective implementation and ongoing evolution of document governance based on content, confidentiality, and access requirements.
  • Drive transformative change through innovative, practical, and implementable solutions to the challenges encountered.
  • Collaborate with the Global Data Office to develop technological solutions that automate key document management functions and enhance Visa Library capabilities to support our GenAI tools.
  • Stay informed about the global landscape of AI solutions to integrate the best practices and solutions into the Visa ecosystem.
Additional Information:

This position operates in a hybrid work environment, allowing employees to alternate between remote and office settings. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office a specified number of days each week, as determined by leadership, with a general expectation of being in the office at least half of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• 12+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or at least 9 years of experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD), or 6 years of experience with a PhD, or 15+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 15+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 12 years of experience with an advanced degree, or a PhD with 9+ years of experience.
• Experience in implementing knowledge frameworks and solutions for GenAI applications is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Rust, Golang, Java, Python, or C/C++.
• Expertise in web service standards and related patterns (REST, gRPC).
• Advanced knowledge of AI, Generative AI, and Data Science.
• Proven ability to architect solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in mind.
• Expertise in distributed in-memory computing technologies like Redis.
• A background in the payments industry is advantageous.

Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.
Travel Requirements: This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This role will be performed in an office environment, requiring the ability to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and via telephone, and operate standard office equipment.
