Key Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are associated with the full performance GS-07 level:
Offers administrative assistance to unit personnel, which may encompass travel logistics, payroll processing, and personnel management. Oversees various business operations, which may involve managing financial transactions, procurement processes, property management, and other administrative functions for staff. Ensures adherence to specific laws, regulations, and guidelines relevant to the agency's specialized areas or programs. Drafts and reviews official correspondence, reports, and standard operating procedures. Develops meeting materials, briefing documents, and participates in meetings with leadership to coordinate, clarify, or provide insights on specialized areas or programs as required. Duties may be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Advancement to the full performance level is not guaranteed and will depend solely on your ability to effectively execute the responsibilities of the position, the availability of work at the higher grade level, and the recommendation of the supervisor.This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until further notice. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be established, with subsequent cut-off dates occurring regularly.
Some positions may be classified as career seasonal. The nature of seasonal work can vary annually, generally influenced by budgetary constraints, workload, and/or environmental conditions. A career seasonal work schedule typically provides for at least 26 weeks of full-time employment, along with periods of non-duty/non-pay time as determined by management.
Positions may be available in various duty locations.
Employment Conditions
U.S. Citizenship is required. Appointment is subject to a background investigation and favorable adjudication. Compliance with Selective Service Registration Act requirements for males is necessary. Selected candidates will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronic Funds Transfer Program. Individuals currently holding or having held a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment must meet time-in-grade requirements. New federal employees will be required to complete a one-year probationary period. Candidates may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and/or shift work. Training and obtaining/maintaining a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority may be required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old or 16 years old with specific educational qualifications.Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the designated cut-off date unless otherwise specified.Credit will be given for all relevant experience. Current federal employees must provide documentation to validate their work schedule and determine qualifying experience.
SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position requires proficiency in office automation duties, necessitating a typing speed of 40 words per minute with minimal errors. Supporting documentation must be submitted.
EXPERIENCE:
For the GS-06 level: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level; or one full year of relevant graduate-level education; or a combination of both.
For the GS-07 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level; or one full year of relevant graduate-level education; or a combination of both.
Volunteer Experience: Experience includes both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer roles through National Service programs and other organizations.
Education
To qualify based on education, applicants must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution, detailing their name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average.
