Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist at Sysco is responsible for collaborating with leadership to execute human resources programs, initiatives, and policies that promote equitable and consistent development and treatment of personnel. This role ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and employment laws, investigates problems, and provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure the company adheres to all State and Federal regulatory agencies and employment laws.
  • Problem Investigation and Resolution: Investigate problems, such as working conditions, disciplinary actions, and associate and applicant appeals, and provide guidance and recommendations for problem resolution.
  • Performance Management: Oversee the performance management process, working with leaders on associate reviews and coaching, providing training and consultation as necessary.
  • Workforce Planning: Work with leaders to create and maintain workforce staffing plans.
  • Recruiting and Staffing: Coordinate recruiting efforts to ensure competent, diverse, and skilled associates are hired, and workload levels are appropriate and maintained.
  • Employee Relations: Formulate and recommend program goals and objectives in all areas of employee relations.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Develop, implement, and administer compensation policies, procedures, and programs, and provide guidance on compensation strategy planning and administration.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree with major or emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Certification: Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.
  • Language: Bilingual in Spanish.
Experience
  • Human Resources Experience: 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources, three years in a supervisory position preferred, or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.

  • HR Knowledge: Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Recruiting and Staffing: Recruiting and staffing skills.
  • Organizational and Analytical Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and various HRIS.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
