About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Subsurface Utility Engineer to join our Utilities/Survey team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping us deliver safe and sustainable solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our team of design professionals to tackle a wide range of projects, from feasibility studies to construction management.
  • Read and interpret utility records, as-built drawings, and survey plans to identify potential conflicts.
  • Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Operate vacuum excavation trucks and perform test holes to expose utilities, while maintaining a high level of safety and precision.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance of traffic plans to minimize disruptions.
Requirements
  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and learn from experience.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
  • Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions, with occasional travel and overtime required.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 80 pounds and walk long distances daily.
  • Strong commitment to safety, with a focus on protecting yourself and others.
  • Proficiency in English, with the ability to read, write, and understand written job-related communications and verbal instructions.
