Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water, sewer, drainage, and roadway construction projects.
  • Review and approve design plans and bid specifications from outside consultants to ensure compliance with City requirements and design standards.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to the City Engineer and other stakeholders on infrastructure-related matters.
  • Coordinate with and assist City Public Works and Public Utilities field personnel on compliance with City technical requirements.
  • Supervise project performance of assigned staff to ensure timely progress and completion of duties and responsibilities.
  • Initiate bidding process, organize and conduct pre-bid and pre-construction conferences.
  • Set interdepartmental uniform design standard guide; provide technical support in engineering-related matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Four years of experience in civil engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must possess Engineering Intern Certification and be able to obtain a Professional Engineering License from the state of Florida within one (1) year from date of hire; OR must possess a Professional Engineering License from the state of Florida at time of hire.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in water and sewer utilities.
