Role Overview:
As a Field Service Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to offer advisory services to clients and third-party contractors regarding both existing and newly acquired equipment and components.

Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:

  1. Assist in the installation and commissioning of equipment and components.
  2. Conduct service calls on both a preventative and reactive basis, ensuring the service and repair of products and systems meet customer requirements.
  3. Maintain accurate records of job progress, including any delays, issues, deliveries, changes, and errors in engineering and fabrication.
  4. Provide detailed reports on completed projects, highlighting activities undertaken, faults identified during service, and recommendations for enhancing service offerings.
  5. Train customer personnel on maintenance and repair techniques to ensure knowledge transfer.
  6. Perform audits at customer locations to identify and analyze opportunities for process improvements.

Work Complexity and Impact:
This role requires independent task completion, addressing basic technical service issues as they arise. Most work is conducted according to established processes, with close supervision available when necessary.

Geographical Scope:
Your primary focus will be on the Eastern Alabama, Georgia, and Northern Florida regions.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. A minimum of 4 years of experience in instrumentation and electromechanics, preferably within a pulp and paper manufacturing context.
  2. A technical diploma in instrumentation, electromechanics, or mechatronics.
  3. A university or collegiate degree in electronics, electromechanics, or instrumentation.

Successful candidates will possess a strong electro-mechanical aptitude, be self-motivated, and demonstrate a robust work ethic. A valid driver's license is required, and typical travel expectations are around 75% within the designated area.
