As a Field Service Engineer, your role will involve providing expert guidance to clients and/or third-party contractors regarding both existing and newly acquired equipment and components.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of various equipment and components.
- Conduct service calls on both a preventative and reactive basis, performing service and repairs to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of job progress, delays, issues, deliveries, modifications, additional work, and engineering errors.
- Provide detailed reports on completed projects, including activities performed, issues encountered, and recommendations for service improvements.
- Educate customer personnel on maintenance and repair techniques to ensure knowledge transfer.
- Perform audits at customer locations to identify and analyze opportunities for process enhancements.
Work Complexity and Impact:
Operate independently to accomplish assigned tasks and resolve basic technical service challenges. The job primarily follows established processes or methods, with close supervision provided as necessary.
Geographical Scope:
Focused on the Eastern Alabama, Georgia, and Northern Florida regions.
Expectations:
The candidate must fulfill one of the following criteria:
1) Minimum of 4 years of experience in instrumentation and electromechanics, ideally within a pulp and paper manufacturing context.
2) A diploma from a technical school in instrumentation, electromechanics, or mechatronics.
3) A degree from a university or college in electronics, electromechanics, or instrumentation.
To excel in this position, you should possess a strong electro-mechanical aptitude, be self-motivated, and demonstrate a solid work ethic.
This role requires a valid driver's license, with approximately 75% travel expected within the designated area.
