Position Overview:
As the Operational Controller, you will oversee all accounting teams within the organization, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Your role will encompass the monthly closing process, accounts payable, billing, and cash applications. You will be instrumental in maintaining robust internal controls and fostering process enhancements.

It is essential for individuals in this position to comprehend, adhere to, and uphold the internal control systems relevant to their key responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:


Lead the Accounting team to guarantee the precision of financial statements during the monthly closing cycle and ensure prompt reporting to headquarters.

Oversee accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Cash Management, while identifying and communicating key performance indicators (KPIs).

Ensure adherence to corporate reporting standards and accounting policies, taking charge of the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.

Promote uniformity across operations in the US and Canada.
Evaluate existing accounting processes, implement improvements, and create metrics to assess the effectiveness of these enhancements.
Act as the primary contact for External Auditors, ensuring a seamless audit process devoid of discrepancies.
Develop and document operational procedures to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.

Engage in various projects, including the adoption of new accounting standards, IT integration accounting aspects, and the management of the general ledger chart of accounts.

Guide, mentor, and develop your direct reports.

Management Responsibilities:
Supervise accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Cash Management.

Qualifications:
Proficient in US GAAP.
Knowledge of SOX compliance.
Strong understanding of internal control processes and key control points.
Process-oriented with the ability to grasp how various operations interconnect.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
Over 15 years of experience in an accounting role, particularly in commercial loans and leases.
