Role Overview:
The CNC Manufacturing Specialist utilizes Six Sigma principles to implement data-driven enhancements to processes, aiming for superior quality, increased efficiency, and reduced costs. All initiatives will be supported by data and thoroughly documented to effectively communicate outcomes and recommendations, providing the plant with comprehensive information for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a reliable and safe CNC machining manufacturing process while enhancing production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
  • Assist in identifying, designing, and developing new equipment and tooling sources.
  • Contribute to the development of internal processes and procedures to meet APQP requirements.
  • Monitor business and manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for problem-solving projects.
  • Provide guidance, training, and work priorities to Process Technicians and Maintenance personnel in the area.
  • Investigate manufacturing-related Corrective and Preventive Actions.
  • Help develop, optimize, and maintain automated/lean solutions for manufacturing and other business processes.
  • Estimate machining cycle times for new components.
  • Assess tooling requirements for new parts and enhancements to existing components.
  • Formulate manufacturing plans for parts and assemblies, create visual work instructions, and collaborate with the design engineering team to resolve technical challenges and ensure quality and delivery standards are met.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Preferred experience in Lean manufacturing methodologies such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, or similar problem-solving techniques.
  • Familiarity with milling and turning processes in both CNC and manual applications is advantageous. Experience with robotic handling and programming is a plus.
  • Proficient in basic cutter selection, spindle feed, speed rates, and cycle time estimations.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks, as well as Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules to support projects.
  • Ability to travel to various Aludyne locations in North America as needed.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
