Role Overview: We are in search of a qualified individual with expertise in metal machining and the automotive sector. This position is hands-on, requiring engagement on the production floor, assisting with maintenance, setup, and operator support, while driving enhancements in processes.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Ensure a dependable and secure CNC machining operation, while maximizing production rates, efficiency, yields, costs, and changeovers.
- Participate in the design and development of new machinery and tooling.
- Assist in formulating internal processes and procedures to comply with APQP standards.
- Oversee manufacturing operations and pinpoint areas for improvement initiatives.
- Provide direction, training, and prioritization for Process Technicians and Maintenance personnel.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing-related corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the development and maintenance of automated and lean manufacturing strategies.
- Estimate machining cycle durations and tooling needs for both new and existing components.
- Create manufacturing plans, develop visual work instructions, and collaborate with the design engineering team to address technical challenges and achieve quality and delivery objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Preferred familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with CNC and manual milling and turning processes; robotic handling and programming experience is advantageous.
- Expertise in cutter selection, spindle feed and speed rates, and cycle time estimation.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
