POSITION TITLE:

Library Aide - Resource Discovery and Management, University Libraries DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Resource Discovery and Management department at UW Libraries is tasked with the acquisition, cataloging, repair, and accessibility of both physical and digital library resources for users. This work-study role is situated in Coe.

Compensation: The starting pay rate is $12.00 per hour, increasing to $12.35 per hour upon successful completion of the first semester of employment. Work Location: Coe Library

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for the repair and upkeep of books and various library materials. The work schedule will be flexible to accommodate classes and other commitments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare a range of materials for the circulating collection. Evaluate donated items for duplicates and quality. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

REMOTE WORK POLICY:

This role is essential for supporting campus users and requires the selected candidate to work on-site.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education : High school diploma or GED
Experience : Not applicable
Additional requirements: Must be eligible and have accepted a work-study award through Student Financial Aid for the relevant semester or academic year.

Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of library classification systems.
