POSITION TITLE:

Library Aide - Learning Resource Center, University Libraries

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Learning Resource Center provides essential services to K-8 students at the Lab School, part of the Albany County School District, as well as to university students, staff, and faculty.

WORK LOCATION:
Education Building

COMPENSATION:
Starting pay is $12 per hour, with an increase to $12.35 per hour following the successful completion of the first semester.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Assist library staff with various tasks related to library operations and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage circulation tasks: check in and out library materials, and re-shelve items
  • Provide assistance to library patrons
  • Perform administrative duties
  • Support special projects as assigned
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This role is essential for supporting campus patrons and requires the candidate to work on-site.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: Prior customer service experience
Other Qualifications: Must be eligible and have accepted a work-study award through Student Financial Aid for the relevant semester or academic year.
  • Willingness and ability to work with children.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience in a library setting
EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS:
Developing customer service skills that are applicable across various career paths. This experience is particularly beneficial for those pursuing Early Childhood and K-6 education majors.
