Patient Service Representative Float

Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking a Patient Service Representative Float to provide exceptional patient care and support to our community health system. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for greeting patients, registering them, and placing their information into our electronic record keeping system.
Responsibilities- Patient Check-in and Check-out: Effectively manage the patient check-in and check-out process from start to finish, including identification verification, demographic and insurance updates, and ensuring accurate completion of forms.
- Payment Collection and Eligibility Verification: Collect specified co-pays and payments from patients, screen for eligibility, and provide financial assistance as needed.
- Electronic Health Record Management: Ensure accurate and timely placement of patient information into our electronic health record system.
- Appointment Scheduling and Referral Processing: Schedule appointments, confirm referrals, and process authorizations for specialty services.
- Customer Service and Communication: Respond to customer inquiries, provide billing information, and escalate issues as needed.
- Clerical Support: Perform general clerical duties, including scanning, tracking data, and receiving correspondence.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification, C-NA certification, or medical terminology course preferred; 1-3 years of experience in administrative/clerical support or customer service.
- Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish may be required.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel as needed within San Diego County, with proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used.
- Competitive Salary: $23.00 - $27.29 per hour, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.
