We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Scripps Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice, including interacting with patients, payers, and providers to gather information necessary for accurate registration.
- Responsible for scheduling patient appointments, responding to customer billing and payment inquiries, and managing the patient check-in and check-out process.
- Collect patient payment responsibility, accurately prepare end-of-day reporting or payment reconciliation, and escalate billing inquiries as needed.
- May be responsible for initiating and validating referrals/authorizations, and ensuring accurate documentation and routing of messages.
- One (1) or more years of experience in customer service or a healthcare/medical office environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, excellent mathematical skills, and ability to handle monies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a strong ability to adapt, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
