We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Scripps Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities- Interact with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration and appointment scheduling.
- Assign Medical Record Numbers, collect point of service payments, and manage document collection and check-out functions.
- Respond to customer billing and payment inquiries, and effectively manage the check-in or check-out process.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, and enter insurance information.
- Initiate and validate referrals/authorizations, and provide proactive customer service.
- Proficiency in computer applications, excellent mathematical skills, and ability to handle monies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to adapt, prioritize, and meet deadlines, with knowledge of medical terminology and commercial and government health insurance guidelines.
- 1 or more years of experience in a customer service or healthcare/medical office environment.
- Able to work in a team environment, with a proactive approach to customer service and problem-solving.
