About the Role

The Senior Associate Director of Foundation at Johns Hopkins Medicine is a key member of our development team, responsible for building and advancing annual and major gift relationships through prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. This role requires effective representation of the hospital to a constituency of community, foundations, corporations, friends, and/or grateful families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic fundraising and development annual work plans, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Establish and manage a mixed portfolio of major and/or annual gifts, with a focus on securing $500,000+ proposals.
  • Execute a minimum of 20 gift solicitations per year, including writing, editing, and reviewing proposals.
  • Establish and effectively manage relationships with prospects and donors, moving them through the gift life cycle of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Collaborate across departments and divisions to ensure a seamless donor experience.
  • Meet work plan metrics each year, including managing specific priority projects and events, and overseeing development of programs.
  • Accomplish human resources management objectives, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of five years in event planning, fundraising, communications, or related experience, with two years minimum project management experience.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in using Microsoft products.
  • Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, confidentiality, and public speaking skills.
  • Must have own transportation for travel to events.
