Critical Care Registered Nurse

Compensation: $77.81 per hour
Additional Compensation: Extra pay for BSN/MSN and CCRN certifications.
The wage range provided reflects the spectrum from minimum to maximum. For roles with multiple levels, the range indicates the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Certain positions may also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications, or educational qualifications. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's relevant experience, educational background, and internal equity.
Overview: EvergreenHealth is located in the scenic Kirkland, Washington, and is in search of a skilled Intensive Care RN to become part of the established and dynamic team within the 20-bed Intensive Care Unit.
Position Summary:
The Intensive Care RN is accountable for delivering comprehensive nursing care to all patients, adhering to established standards of care, as well as hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care while acting as a patient advocate.
- Evaluate the comprehensive nursing needs of a designated group of patients.
- Facilitate the education process for patients and their families/significant others.
- Continuously plan, implement, and assess patient care, involving patients and their families/significant others in the process.
- Collaborate with physician partners and interdisciplinary team members to create and execute patient and family/significant other care plans.
- Effectively relay all pertinent information (e.g., patient data, safety concerns, equipment issues, quality matters) to the immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
- Document and communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required within five years of employment if applicable.
- A minimum of one year of recent RN experience in critical care or intensive care nursing.
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse License.
- American Heart Association CPR Healthcare Provider certification required by the start date.
- American Heart Association ACLS certification required by the start date.
Preferred:
- BSN or MSN.
- CCRN certification is preferred.

EvergreenHealth is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care to our patients. The literature indicates that possessing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) significantly enhances the quality of care provided. Therefore, this position necessitates a BSN or a commitment to initiate a BSN program within three years and achieve a BSN within five years of employment. Note that this BSN requirement does not apply to those with an RN license for twenty or more years or current EvergreenHealth RNs hired prior to a specified date.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement between EvergreenHealth and the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA). Union membership is optional.
