Position Summary
GovCIO is seeking a seasoned Lead Financial Strategist to become a vital part of our expanding organization. This role will primarily support the rapidly growing Veteran and Enterprise Technology Services (VETS) sector, reporting directly to the FP&A sector lead. This is a full-time remote position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Division Senior Vice President and program teams to deliver insightful analysis and guidance that fosters informed decision-making and identifies opportunities for enhancing financial performance across the organization.
  • Analyze trends, opportunities, and challenges within the program portfolio, recommending actions based on thorough analysis.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to develop the Division's annual budget.
  • Oversee and track program forecasts, highlighting key drivers and revealing risks and opportunities to meet or exceed financial objectives.
  • Support all facets of program financial management and reporting, working closely with Program Management, Contracts, Accounting, and Project Setup teams to ensure projects remain within negotiated parameters and funding levels.
  • Interpret and clarify key drivers of actual results compared to Budget and Forecast for various contract types (FFP, T&M, LOE, and Cost type).
  • Prepare Estimate at Completion (EAC) analyses and corporate submissions.
  • Assist with Monthly Accounting Close activities, including cost accruals, revenue and profit reviews, and indirect expense evaluations.
  • Identify necessary corrective actions and collaborate with accounting personnel to ensure the business unit's Profit & Loss accurately reflects financial performance.
  • Monitor business unit Accounts Receivable (invoicing and aged receivables) and work with Project Managers and Billing to reduce Days Sales Outstanding.
  • Assist the Finance Manager/Director with additional ad hoc reporting requirements.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience demonstrating career advancement and increasing responsibility.
  • Experience in Government Contracting; knowledgeable about CAS, FAR, and GAAP principles.
  • Proficient in Deltek Costpoint, TM1, and Cognos tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial modeling.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and a critical thinker, capable of collaborating with a diverse team.
