The Medical Office Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care in the Advocate/Aurora Clinics at Walgreens. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support to Advanced Practice Clinicians, including completing patient registration, processing insurance and copays, and scheduling appointments in the electronic medical record.
  • Facilitate waiting room management and patient rooming processes, ensuring a seamless and efficient patient experience.
  • Complete vitals and point-of-care testing on patients, utilizing your clinical skills to provide accurate and timely results.
  • Monitor supply inventory and order clinical and office supplies, maintaining a well-stocked and organized clinic environment.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, APCs, Walgreens store management, and ACW leadership to support patient care delivery.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, professional, and organized clinic environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within 21 days of start date.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires one year of experience in a clinical and/or customer service or patient registration setting.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with patients, teammates, and clinicians.
  • Proficient computer skills, including electronic medical records systems, typing, navigation within a windows operating system, supply ordering, and use of electronic mail.
Working Conditions
  • Must be available to work rotating weekends.
  • Travel between sites of care may be requested to work at nearby Advocate/Aurora Clinic at Walgreens retail clinics.
  • Flexible hours.
  • The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting supplies and moving equipment.
  • Need for hand dexterity to manipulate physical assessment devices and type in electronic medical records.
