KIPP Oklahoma currently serves over 1,000 students and supports numerous alumni. The KIPP Oklahoma network includes KIPP Tulsa Public Charter Schools (grades 5-12) and KIPP OKC Public Schools (grades PreK-1 and 5-8). KIPP OKC Public Schools is expanding one grade each year until it becomes a full PreK-8 program.

Position Overview

Instructional Delivery and Evaluation:
  • Design comprehensive, year-long unit plans and lesson plans aligned with Oklahoma standards that cater to the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Utilize assessment data to adjust both short-term and long-term instructional strategies to enhance all students' academic outcomes.
  • Welcome and integrate feedback as part of a continuous improvement process.
  • Adhere to teacher contract hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday-Thursday) and 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Friday) on regular school days. Early dismissal on Fridays allows for all-school professional development.
Academic and Cultural Engagement:
  • Collaborate with colleagues across content and grade levels to foster an environment of critical thinking and academic excellence.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with students and families grounded in trust and respect.
  • Engage in daily school activities, including morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory responsibilities.
  • Participate in school events such as staff meetings, open houses, back-to-school nights, parent orientations, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Create individualized learning plans for students and communicate these strategies to families during meetings and conferences.
  • Meet professional responsibilities with punctuality and consistency in adhering to deadlines.
Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.
  • Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with the necessary certification for the assigned subject and grade level, if applicable.
  • Proven knowledge in the core subject area assigned.
  • Successful completion of a background check. Candidates are responsible for a non-refundable fingerprinting fee (approximately $60).

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary is determined based on the 10-month teacher salary scale.

Employees are eligible for employer-sponsored benefits, including health, dental, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short and long-term disability, and participation in Oklahoma Teacher Retirement plans.
