As a primary care specialist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric care.
Key Responsibilities- Order and Interpret Tests: Conduct thorough physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
- Counsel Patients on Preventive Care: Educate patients on healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
- Conduct Physical Examinations: Perform routine check-ups, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans to promote optimal health outcomes.
- Supervise Midlevel Practitioners: Mentor and guide physician assistants and nurse practitioners to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Assess Patient Health: Gather medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests to identify potential health issues.
- Document Patient Care: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans.
- Perform Therapeutic Procedures: Administer joint injections, aspiration, and other medical procedures as needed.
- Instruct and Counsel Patients: Educate patients on therapeutic regimens, disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Provide Continuity of Care: Develop and implement patient management plans to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with Regulations: Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing medical practice.
- Stay Current with Industry Developments: Attend educational workshops, review professional publications, and participate in professional societies to stay current with industry best practices.
- Professional Licensure: Must be professionally licensed to practice family medicine and in good standing with all applicable federal, state, and local licensing bodies.
- Board Certification: Must be board certified or board eligible in family medicine.
- Compassionate Care: Demonstrate a caring and compassionate approach when interacting with patients.
- Technical Skills: Possess technical skills to operate medical equipment and tools related to family medicine treatment.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and applicable laws and regulations regarding scope of practice.
- Physical Ability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, sit for long periods, and perform data entry.
- Physical Demands: Daily standing, walking, bending, and maneuvering, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds or more.
- Environmental Conditions: Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and biohazards.
Travel to other OAC locations is expected for this position. Clinic patient hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Fridays. Additional hours are expected to take care of patients, phone calls, charting, and complete daily work.
