Clinical Educator for Paramedicine Program

Position Overview:
As a Clinical Educator, you will play a pivotal role in the Paramedicine degree program. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with students at various clinical locations, providing ongoing, hands-on instruction for both EMT and Paramedic students.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate the instruction of EMT and Paramedic laboratory courses.
2. Operate under the guidance of the Paramedicine Program Director.
3. Prepare laboratory settings for classes and assist in the cleanup after lab sessions.
4. Demonstrate the safe and correct usage of laboratory equipment and manage hazardous materials responsibly.
5. Serve as a positive role model and leader for students.
6. Attend annual program meetings and fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
Minimum of one year of field experience with an EMS agency at the relevant license level. Current National Registry of EMTs certification as an EMT or Paramedic and a valid state license are mandatory.

Certifications such as AHA BLS Provider, AHA ACLS Provider (for Paramedics), and AHA PALS/PEPP Provider (for Paramedics) are required or must be obtained through approved training.


Preferred Experience:
Prior teaching experience or field training, familiarity with educational technology, and simulation technology are advantageous. Knowledge of Emergency Medical Responder, EMT, Advanced EMT, and Paramedic registry skills and practices is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to educate and assist students in mastering essential EMS skills.
- Capability to assess student performance effectively.
- Proficiency in conducting both formative and summative assessments of student learning.
- Skill in creating and maintaining a constructive learning environment while upholding professionalism in all clinical activities.
- Ability to collaborate with EMS agency representatives to achieve program objectives.
- Capacity to manage multiple students in a clinical setting while multitasking.
- Adaptability in applying laboratory methods and practices.
- Compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Competence in working with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in clear, grammatically correct English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet usage.

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree, AHA BLS Instructor, AHA ACLS Instructor, AHA PALS/PEPP Instructor, and PHTLS Provider certifications are preferred.

Working Environment:
The role involves working in hospital and assisted living facility settings. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the position may require evening and weekend hours in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:
Instructors must be capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 lbs unassisted, bending, standing, climbing, or walking. Adherence to safety regulations regarding the handling of hazardous materials is mandatory.
