Senior Tax Consultant Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the timely and precise submission of S-Corp and Partnership tax filings.
  • Evaluate tax returns prepared by junior staff members.
  • Formulate and execute tax planning initiatives to reduce tax burdens while ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation to identify potential opportunities and challenges.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax-related disclosures for financial reporting.
  • Investigate complex tax matters and advise management or clients on the tax consequences of business decisions, investments, and other activities.
  • Guide and mentor tax personnel, offering training, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Effectively delegate tasks to promote efficient workflow and professional development among team members.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships, delivering high-quality tax advisory services and addressing their tax-related inquiries.
  • Manage special projects as required.
Senior Tax Consultant Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • CPA or advanced degree (e.g., Master of Taxation) or Enrolled Agent certification is essential.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in tax compliance and planning, ideally within a public accounting firm or corporate tax department, with experience in preparing 1120s, 1065s, etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax software such as Drake or Ultratax and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A polished professional with aspirations for leadership.
