Job Overview

As a vital part of Asurion's Global Security and Risk division, the Asurion Security Operations Center (ASOC) serves as a dedicated facility, operational 24/7/365, to oversee a range of essential security systems across the organization’s international presence. This center acts as the primary point of contact for all security-related concerns affecting employees and assets globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and cultivate a proficient ASOC team equipped to manage risks and proactively address security threats.
  • Oversee complex personnel, procedural, and technical initiatives, employing strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Assist ASOC leadership in recruiting, training, and managing staff, ensuring comprehensive cross-training for all analysts on center operations.
  • Report and communicate critical and non-critical incidents from initial detection through to resolution, keeping Asurion leadership informed.
  • Direct initial crisis response actions in alignment with established Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity protocols.
  • Manage physical access control across multiple global locations utilizing the Lenel operating system to monitor and validate authorized access.
  • Collect and analyze data to generate meaningful metrics that drive positive organizational change.
  • Innovate and enhance threat reporting operations, processes, and tools, focusing on the latest advancements in technology and data aggregation.
  • Conduct thorough investigations using various video management systems to document and, when necessary, provide evidence of incidents on Asurion premises.
  • Supervise enterprise-wide incident reporting, ensuring compliance with established standards and appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Monitor cargo shipments to mitigate risks associated with theft and other security threats.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks that could impact Asurion's operations, personnel, and assets, enhancing situational awareness.
  • Review daily reports detailing all ASOC activities.
  • Facilitate global emergency notifications through Asurion's mass notification system to bolster employee safety and security.
  • Provide direction to onsite security personnel and Asurion staff during immediate security responses across international sites.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of the Asurion Security Operations Center.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • ASIS CPP or similar certification is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • Formal training in the planning, implementation, maintenance, and management of central alarm, access control, and CCTV systems.
  • A minimum of three years of security-related experience within the last five years.
  • Prior experience with security systems, including access control, alarm monitoring, CCTV, telecommunications, and video surveillance.
  • Preferred qualifications include law enforcement experience, military service, intelligence gathering expertise, or a degree in Criminal Justice/Security.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience supervising teams of employees and/or contractors.
  • Strong oral, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively in high-pressure situations with all levels of management.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and various security platforms.
  • Capability to identify and respond to critical issues swiftly and accurately.
  • Professional demeanor and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules.
  • Must pass a drug screening and extensive background check.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, involving monitoring of access control and CCTV systems, and requires effective communication during critical situations.
