Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Archivist for Records Management to join our team at Dartmouth College. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our Records Management program, ensuring the proper retention and disposition of records, and promoting good record-keeping practices across the institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures for the management of institutional records.
  • Establish, implement, and oversee collaborative workflows for all stages of the lifecycle of institutional records.
  • Work closely with administrative offices across the institution to encourage good records-keeping practices and compliance with Dartmouth policies, state, and federal laws and statutes.
  • Supervise, train, and collaborate with the Records Analyst position to meet changing program needs.
  • Manage projects and procedures related to electronic and paper records in collaboration with the Assistant Archivist for Acquisitions and Collections.
  • Provide reference service to a diverse community of users, both remotely and in the Special Collections reading room.
  • Review and establish institutional records policies in collaboration with the Archivist and Records Manager.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with trends and issues affecting this position's duties and for professional growth in new areas of need and interest.
Requirements
  • Masters in Library and Information Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five plus years of archives or records management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of records-keeping systems.
  • Ability to work discreetly with sensitive or confidential materials.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Archival concentration in MLIS.
  • Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Certified Records Analyst (CRA).
  • Teaching experience.
