Job Summary

The Town of Hanover, NH is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of its vehicle and equipment fleet. This is a regular full-time position that requires a strong background in management, supervision, and mechanical maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize, schedule, and assign repair and maintenance tasks for vehicles and equipment.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
  • Manage equipment operating and preventive maintenance records.
  • Oversee the equipment and parts inventory.
  • Assist in preparing the division's annual operating budget and monitor expenditures.
  • Determine the safety and dependability of vehicles and equipment.
  • Develop and manage the ongoing preventative maintenance of town vehicles and equipment.
  • Purchase gasoline, oil, and diesel fuel for town use.
  • Supervise and direct personnel, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
  • Maintain the fuel inventory and management system.
  • Coordinate the proper disposal of universal/hazardous liquid wastes within the Public Works Department.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the occupational field.
  • Three to five years of related experience.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the State of New Hampshire.
  • Knowledge of town policies and procedures, including personnel and purchasing procedures.
  • Knowledge of budget management practices.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the mechanical functioning of a variety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Knowledge of record-keeping systems.
  • Knowledge of underground storage tank operation and maintenance guidelines.
