Position Summary:
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for an Anesthesia Support Specialist - Full Time - Days. In this role, the selected candidate will assist licensed anesthesia professionals in the preparation and management of the necessary equipment and supplies for administering anesthesia across various departments within the organization (such as GI, Cath Lab, EP, Specials, MRI, TEE, and CCK). Your contributions will be essential in ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective anesthesia care.
The responsibilities include supporting anesthesia providers during both routine and complex surgical procedures, ensuring the availability of patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after anesthesia administration.
Depending on your expertise and training, you may also be involved in the basic maintenance of equipment, including cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and coordinating inspections and maintenance with Bio-Medical Engineering.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Assisting anesthesia providers with various mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic equipment used for patient monitoring and management.
- Managing supply inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and stocking anesthesia supplies for surgical procedures.
- Coordinating the ordering of non-narcotic medications from the pharmacy and ensuring their secure delivery for daily use in anesthesia.
- Documenting equipment repairs and related activities to support anesthesia providers in patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
Your role will involve completing daily tasks in an organized and timely manner, maintaining an inventory of anesthesia supplies in accordance with budgetary guidelines, and validating received orders for accuracy. You will utilize inventory control systems for ordering and perform additional duties as assigned.
In emergency situations, you will respond appropriately and participate in the implementation of the HEICS plan as required. You will also work towards improving Press Ganey scores and maintain open communication with colleagues, demonstrating proper etiquette in all interactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED and relevant work experience. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, and organizational skills are essential. Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with inventory control systems, is required.

BLS - Pending Card
Qualified candidates must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $63,000.00 - $63,450.00 annually. Actual salaries will depend on various factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs.
