Addison Group is in search of a committed Patient Collections Specialist to enhance their operations. This role is a direct hire opportunity.
Role Summary:
The Patient Collections Specialist will manage a variety of patient account functions, including data management, reimbursement support, billing processes, and customer relations, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Key Duties:
- Precisely input data into the system.
- Assist patients with reimbursement inquiries while providing exceptional customer service and respecting patient confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA when sharing medical records with authorized parties.
- Accurately process and file all patient transactions in a timely manner.
- Address incoming patient calls and manage billing questions related to outstanding balances.
- Facilitate payment processing over the phone.
- Conduct outbound calls to patients regarding unpaid balances and discuss payment alternatives.
- Review patient account statuses and verify that appropriate billing actions have been taken.
- Respond to written inquiries concerning patient accounts.
- Record charges, payments, adjustments, and related transactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively within a team or independently to achieve established objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Perform additional related tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office environment.
- 1-2 years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting, including call centers.
- Basic knowledge of accounts receivable and patient account management.
Additional Information:
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
