Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesiologist Generalist of Medicine to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care, teach and mentor residents and students, and contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality anesthetic care to patients in various settings, including the main OR and ambulatory areas.
  • Teach and mentor residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists in a clinical setting.
  • Pursue clinical or laboratory research and other scholarly interests independently or in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Participate in departmental, School of Medicine, University, or VCU Health System committees as requested or determined by individual interest.
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree
  • ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
  • Eligible for employment in the United States
  • Good communication, clinical, and teaching skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
