Chief Financial Strategist - Reporting to the President

The Chief Financial Strategist oversees and coordinates all functions and activities related to the financial and accounting operations of Staff Financial Group. This role involves the formulation and administration of company policies concerning accounting, budgeting, payroll, and procurement, with a significant degree of independent discretion and judgment, subject to periodic review by the President.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement financial plans, strategies, and policies for the organization.
  • Evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting procedures, and capital expenditure plans.
  • Plan, analyze, and control financial operations within the organization.
  • Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting cycle across all departments.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • Recruit, train, and develop finance team members to ensure they meet organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and present the company budget to the leadership team and Board of Directors.
  • Forecast income statements and cash flow statements alongside operational budgets.
  • Analyze the business model to provide insights for improved financial management.
  • Establish cost centers and evaluate product family profitability with respect to their P&L impact.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements with detailed expense analysis and budget oversight.
  • Analyze and optimize inventory to enhance turnover and cash flow.
  • Research, structure, and implement ERP systems.
  • Establish internal accounting controls.
  • Manage banking relationships and negotiate various financial facilities.
  • Provide the Operating Committee with relevant information to support decision-making across different functions.
  • Design and compile monthly board packs for presentation to the Board and leadership team.
  • Supervise and maintain relationships with CPA firms.
  • Participate in Operating Committee Meetings and Management Team discussions.
  • Oversee debt management and collections.
  • Prepare company tax filings and financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations.
  • Oversee payroll processing.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Exceptional communication, technological, analytical, and management skills.
  • Experience in contract accounting and tax regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive familiarity with computerized accounting systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred candidates will hold a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
