The Lead Product Strategist for Pole Inspection and Treatment will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Wood Portfolio Infrastructure to devise and implement a comprehensive strategy and business plan aimed at achieving targeted outcomes. This role encompasses research, engineering, and technical development necessary for launching new products while also overseeing the management of existing offerings. The Lead Product Strategist will ensure that the requisite internal resources, tools, and processes are in place to foster the growth of new products or services. Please note that this position is focused on tangible product development and does not involve software or technology development.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for flexibility between our offices and lab locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the ideation process for new products and services that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Assess products and services to confirm the existence of a viable business case. Conduct market analysis to ensure revenue goals are attainable.
  • Formulate business plans to validate startup costs and present strategies to senior management for necessary support and approvals.
  • Develop training and implementation strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to guarantee the successful integration of products and services into the business framework.
  • Work alongside engineering and technical teams to establish clear and effective technical specifications for products or services.
  • Partner with Business Development, Operations, and Contracts teams to implement new product specifications, revise existing ones, and create project proposals.
  • Build partnerships that enhance the success of both new and existing products/services.
  • Train the organization to effectively market and deliver the product or service, creating documentation to ensure consistent training practices.
  • Serve as a customer-facing expert, providing in-depth knowledge on assigned products and services, and supporting sales initiatives at all levels.
  • Participate in industry events, engage in trade groups, and deliver presentations that bolster product and service strategies.
  • Contribute to various projects and plans to ensure the company meets its financial objectives.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, specializing in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering. Experience in Wood Sciences is advantageous.
  2. A Master’s degree in business is preferred.
  3. 3-5 years of experience in product management with a proven track record of successfully launching products.
  4. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and illustrations.
  5. Experience in the electric and/or telecom utility sectors is preferred.
  6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly and confidently to customers and produce technical documents with proper style and grammar.
  7. Capability to work collaboratively across various teams, including Business Development, Operations, and Senior Management.
  8. Willingness to travel occasionally and adapt to varied hours to achieve desired outcomes, with some fieldwork required.
