Role Summary

This position is focused on delivering specialized case management services in the areas of child and adult welfare. The selected candidate will undertake a variety of responsibilities that necessitate professional knowledge and independent judgment.

Primary Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and investigations related to Child Protective Services (CPS), ensuring thorough case documentation and active participation in Family Partnership Meetings.
  • Engage in departmental meetings and fulfill on-call responsibilities related to child welfare.
  • Participate in emergency shelter team operations and perform additional duties as required.

The ideal applicant should have a profound understanding of social work principles, current societal challenges, and available community resources. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills are critical for success in this role.

Essential Qualifications:


• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant social science discipline and a minimum of three years of experience in social work; OR

• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A valid driver's license is necessary for travel to various locations.
  • Completion of mandatory training in accordance with Virginia Standards for personnel is required.
