About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Family Services Specialist to join our team in Henrico County. As a key member of our Child Protective Services team, you will play a critical role in providing professional, intensive, and specialized continuing case management services to children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive family assessments and investigations, including case documentation in the child welfare database OASIS using COMPASS and eScribers.
  • Coordinate and participate in Family Partnership Meetings, court proceedings, and other related activities.
  • Provide coverage for child welfare on-call duties, including approximately 14 nights per 12-month calendar year.
  • Participate in unit, division, agency, and community meetings related to the work of the Department.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a four-year baccalaureate degree in a relevant social science field and three years of relevant social work experience. Alternatively, you may have any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

You will also need to be able to maintain considerable knowledge of current social, economic, and health concerns, as well as the ability to make independent judgments and understand and interpret laws and regulations.
