Job Description

Are you a seasoned finance expert poised to take on a crucial position? We are in search of a skilled Financial Controller to manage our accounting operations at Squaxin Island Gaming Enterprise. Your proficiency will be vital in ensuring adherence to regulations, sustaining financial health, and steering strategic financial choices that propel our growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Standards and Protocols: Develop and implement standards to guarantee precise and trustworthy financial reporting within a solid internal control system.
  • Liquidity Management: Supervise and enhance cash reserves, along with overseeing daily cash flow documentation.
  • Financial Planning: Spearhead the formulation and oversight of property and departmental financial plans, including capital investments.
  • Financial Evaluation: Execute comprehensive reviews and assessments of financial statements and reports, delivering insights to executives and managers as required.
  • Financial Disclosure: Manage the timely preparation and dissemination of monthly financial statements and quarterly financial disclosures in accordance with banking regulations and covenant stipulations.
  • Departmental Guidelines: Establish departmental benchmarks, guidelines, and objectives to ensure effective planning and operational efficiency across designated areas.
  • Compliance with Regulations: Ensure meticulous monitoring and timely submission of regulatory documents, including gaming taxes and other necessary filings.
  • Gaming Operations Assessment: Conduct thorough analytical evaluations of gaming operations, focusing on compliance and accuracy in win calculations.
  • Promotional Impact Analysis: Lead the assessment of promotions and gaming operations to evaluate their financial effects on the enterprise.
  • Annual Financial Review: Oversee and manage the preparation and issuance of the Annual Financial Review.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • 30 semester credit hours in accounting AND either an MBA, CPA, or CMA is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in roles such as Accounting Manager, Revenue Audit Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller is required.
  • Experience in a gaming environment is preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation.
