Position: Senior M&A Strategy Manager

Role Overview: The M&A division operates as a centralized corporate team focused on spearheading acquisition and divestiture initiatives. This team comprises experienced professionals who collaborate closely with various business units and leadership to drive strategic growth.

As a Senior M&A Strategy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of acquisitions, divestitures, and investment transactions. This position is newly established and will report directly to the Executive Director of Acquisitions & Divestitures. The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic deal-making environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide valuation and execution support for M&A activities that align with the strategic goals of Apollo Inc.
  • Develop, review, and present comprehensive financial models and analyses, including discounted cash flow and merger consequences.
  • Oversee M&A divestiture projects, ensuring smooth pre-close, post-close, and day-one separation processes.
  • Collaborate with functional teams and external advisors to enhance operational understanding and drive transaction execution.
  • Manage deal execution, ensuring centralized governance and coordination among involved teams.
  • Track deal milestones, make strategic recommendations, and hold cross-functional teams accountable for timely deliverables.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Transition Service Agreement (TSA) evaluations during pre-close planning.
  • Work alongside business units and corporate functions to articulate business cases and support internal decision-making.
  • Provide financial management support throughout the M&A lifecycle, including valuation and integration planning.
  • Assist in developing and communicating strategic business cases to secure leadership endorsement for M&A initiatives.
  • Support the creation of a toolkit for comprehensive deal evaluation, focusing on value creation and financing needs.
  • Report progress to leadership, ensuring alignment among stakeholders and addressing potential issues proactively.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in managing M&A transactions, with a background in investment banking or corporate development.
  • Ability to synthesize complex financial analyses and operational data effectively.
  • Strong corporate finance skills, including the capacity to create ad hoc financial analyses independently.
  • Significant analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial statements and valuation methodologies.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent presentation skills, capable of conveying complex strategic concepts clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across functions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a solid understanding of financial and business principles.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to open communication.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
