Heavy Construction Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Construction Specialist to join our team at The H&K Group, Inc. in Hallstead, PA.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks related to heavy construction projects, including driving piles for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
- Drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures
- Confer with Pile Driving Foreman on job specifications
- Read and interpret load charts
- Interpret hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed
- Perform daily inspections on equipment, clean and perform minor maintenance, report malfunctions
Requirements:
- Related experience and/or training
- Working knowledge and ability to safely and efficiently understand and direct crane set up and lifting plans
- Experience and working knowledge of rigging
- Ability to read blueprints and job-related documents
- Ability to operate surveying instrument, shoot elevations and straight lines
- Experience with pile driving and drilling equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving
- Ability to travel as required for projects
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
