Transportation Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at The H&K Group, Inc. This role involves delivering fixtures of wood, plywood, and other supplies on the jobsite operating a single axle truck with a flatbed.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will support bridge and other structural projects throughout Northeast PA and the Lehigh Valley and then transition to a $300M+ project on I-81 in Susquehanna County, PA, and Broome County, NY.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all work adhering to OSHA, DOT, and H&K Safety policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop skills and knowledge related to single-axle truck maintenance and operation.
• Handle the vehicle in onsite and on-the-road situations, including signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
• Class B CDL with at least 1 year of single-axle driving experience.
• Clean driving record and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed.
• Physical ability to meet job demands (movement, lifting, as relevant to job).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years of commercial driving experience, preferably with single-axle trucks.
• Manual transmission experience and MSHA, OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
