Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and embody the core values of PSE in all aspects of your work.
  • Provide comprehensive electrical design and consulting services for utility clients, focusing on substation design and protection systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and PSE guidelines throughout the engineering design process, including drafting, procurement, and construction management.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to ensure proper implementation of designs.
  • Conduct site visits for inspections and oversee contractor compliance with design specifications.
  • Perform quality control and technical reviews to ensure adherence to engineering principles and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with various departments to address the needs of regional electric utility clients.
  • Pursue ongoing education and certifications to maintain Professional Engineering licensure.
  • Manage project budgets effectively, controlling expenditures and hours.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience in the utility sector, specifically in the engineering and design of electrical substations.
  • Professional Engineer license or eligibility for licensure in relevant states.

Skills:

  • Self-motivated with a strong background in power system planning, protection, design, and operations.
  • Proficient in software tools such as AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, site assessments, and inspections as necessary.
