Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide efficient and effective customer service to patients and families, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage patient scheduling, registration, and billing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist clinical staff in maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Maximize revenue by collecting payment at time of service and entering accurate and up-to-date billing information into the patient accounting system.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Two to three years of customer service experience in a high-volume, high-stress environment.
- Experience handling difficult caller/customers/patients and ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and telephone communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to solve problems posed by callers seeking referrals, appointments, billing issues, and clinical information.
- Ability to function in a high-volume, multiple-task environment, possibly in a crowded or closely shared workspace.
