We are seeking a Lead Reinsurance Claims Specialist to become a vital part of our Corporate Reinsurance & Reserving team. This position plays a crucial role in the precise identification, analysis, reporting, and collection of ceded reinsurance claims within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees management reports, loss advisory notifications, claim details, and ceded reinsurance agreements to pinpoint reinsurance recoverables.
- Collaborates closely with brokers and claims analysts to efficiently address inquiries from reinsurance partners.
- Works in partnership with the finance department to ensure that accurate recoverables are recorded in the financial system.
- Maintains comprehensive databases of all reported claims to guarantee timely updates are communicated to brokers and reinsurance partners.
- Assists in the reinsurance placement process by supplying updated claims information.
- Contributes to the establishment of global reinsurance best practices.
- Coordinates reinsurance audits with internal teams, brokers, and reinsurers.
- Manages insurance claims within the organization.
- Possesses extensive procedural and/or technical expertise developed through significant experience, capable of analyzing intricate issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
- Results-driven with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must be capable of engaging with reinsurance brokers, cedants, and reinsurers.
- Maintains a high level of accuracy and follow-through on projects.
- Requires the ability to handle confidential information and work autonomously.
- A Bachelor's degree with proven experience in insurance or reinsurance is required.
- 5+ years of experience managing substantial direct claims and/or reinsurance claims.
