Key Responsibilities

The Aviation Studies program at the University of Nebraska Omaha is inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor role.

The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in Aeronautical Science, Public Administration, Transportation, Business, Education, or related disciplines pertinent to aviation education and research.

Applicants should demonstrate the ability to instruct undergraduate courses within the core curriculum of the Aviation Studies program and its various concentrations.

The successful candidate will propose a research agenda focused on aviation-related topics, including but not limited to transportation, safety, human factors, diversity and inclusion, workforce development, and both crewed and uncrewed aircraft.

Candidates must exhibit a proven track record of teaching in higher education and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

While not mandatory, holding an FAA pilot and/or remote pilot certificate would be advantageous.

ABD candidates will be considered, provided they can fulfill the doctoral requirements before the preferred start date.

Additional Responsibilities
Support and contribute to the Aviation Studies program, the School, the College, and the University. Engage in community outreach and participate in relevant events and activities.

Required Qualifications
Doctorate in Aeronautical Science, Public Administration, Transportation, Business, Education, or other fields relevant to aviation education and research. Exceptional ABD candidates may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
Possession of any Federal Aviation Administration Certificate(s), including flight, dispatch, air traffic control, mechanic, or unmanned aircraft operation.
